We’ve worked with Andy and The Courtyard Dairy team for years. We’re a huge fan of theirs, especially because they champion independent farmhouse cheese-makers across the UK and Ireland. These trio of cheeses are to be enjoyed with our famous seed crackers and onion and chicory root chutney. The perfect post-dinner treat.
This goats’ milk Gouda is made from Marion Roeleveld’s herd of 200 Saanen goats. The cheese is then aged in-house by The Courtyard Dairy for 11 months to develop a greater depth of flavour. This gouda is slightly sweet and nutty, with a gorgeous gentle goat flavour.
Baron Bigod, Suffolk
Jonathan and Dulcie Crickmore have been dairy farmers all their lives at their farm in Suffolk. This British brie is made from the milk of French-bred Montbeliarde cows. It’s then aged to perfect ripeness, to deliver a rich, buttery brie.
Sparkenhoe Blue, Leicestershire
The Clarke family are famous for their vintage red Leicester but decided to create a blue cheese to go alongside. Firstly considering a Stilton, the farmers ended up creating Sparkenhoe Blue, a mellow blue, with a dense-fudgy texture, and a savoury finish.
